When should I use the WAVE RLT light therapy pad and when should I use the WAVE RLT light therapy pens?

Light therapy pads are ideal for treating larger areas as they provide wider coverage and more even light distribution. They are effective in relieving pain and promoting healing over larger areas of the body.

WAVE RLT light therapy pens, on the other hand, are particularly suitable for precise treatment of small areas and hotspots. These pens deliver a stronger and more intense treatment compared to light therapy pads, making them ideal for targeting specific problem areas with more powerful light energy.

The technology is not yet developed for light therapy pads to achieve the same intensity as WAVE RLT’s specially developed light therapy pens. This makes pens the preferred choice for targeted treatment and faster results on smaller areas where a more concentrated light treatment is required.

However, for larger areas, the Light Therapy Pad provides faster treatment as it covers a larger area than the Light Therapy Pen. So one does not exclude the other, and both methods can be used according to need and circumstances.

Important Points to Consider When Investing in Light Therapy Products

1. Data query:
   • It’s important to ask about data, just like you would ask about engine size or fuel economy when buying a car.
   • Measurements should be made on the surface and in mW/cm². It cannot be measured in W or mW on the product alone, even if it is listed as “OUTPUT”. We’ve measured products that claim to have 80W output but only have 35-40 mW/cm² on the surface.
   • There can be a big difference in how much light actually comes out of the product. We elaborate on this further down.
   • We’ve measured the most well-known products on the market and they range from 5 mW/cm² to 42 mW/cm². Our products range between 77.8 and 121mW/cm².
2. Heat dissipation:
   • It is important to find out if the product emits waste heat, especially if it is to be used on tendons, as high heat can cause damage.
   • WAVE RLT does not emit waste heat and cannot get hot or burn thanks to a patented system that ensures 100% safe use, even during extended use.
3. Distance between LEDs:
   • The density of LEDs is important because where there is no light, there is no treatment.
   • Wavelengths cannot move sideways, only straight up. All measurements confirm this.
   • Some light therapy products have large areas without light. On a leg with a circumference of 20 cm, large gaps between LEDs will make it difficult to process accurately.
4. LED Wavelengths:
   • WAVE RLT “G2” has both 660 nm and 850 nm in each LED, ensuring the same dose every time, just like a laser.
   • WAVE RLT “G3 DeepSpectrum” has 660Nm – 850Nm and the new 905Nm wavelength that penetrates even deeper into the tissue, up to 5 cm.

The new 905 Nm wavelength improves treatment of deep tissue, including larger muscles, joints and bones. The increased depth penetration enables a more efficient stimulation of the mitochondria in cells, improving the cells’ energy (ATP) production and promoting a more efficient healing process.
