Always give roughage before complete food, and divide the complete food into several feedings per day.
Feeding instructions
The recommended feeding schedule for a full-grown horse is approximately 0.1–0.8 kg Lucerne Pellets per 100 kg horse. Make sure that the horse gets enough other roughage in addition to Lucerne Pellets (at least 1.5 kg dry matter roughage per 100 kg horse). Lucerne Pellets should be soaked in at least twice as much hot or cold water before feeding, to minimize the risk of esophageal obstruction.
The daily dosage should be based on the nutritional value of the roughage, as well as the horse's work level, whether it is growing or whether it is pregnant/lactating.
