WAVE RLT G2 – Small
Well-thought-out light therapy for daily use – on horses, dogs and yourself
When your dog does his best, he also deserves your attention afterwards
A hunting dog that has worked concentratedly throughout a long day. An agility dog that loves speed, jumping and working together with its handler. Or the family dog that never says no to another walk.
What they have in common is that they use their bodies – and that you, as a dog owner, want to give them the best environment for a good and active dog life.
WAVE RLT G2 – Small is developed for those who want to make light therapy a natural part of their dog's everyday life.
With its compact size, upgraded LED technology and controlled heat generation, Small combines the classic WAVE G2 technology with practical and flexible use.
It's about prioritizing your dog's well-being and comfort – both on active days and in quiet moments at home.
NEW – Upgraded LED technology with dual 850 nm
WAVE RLT G2 Small has now been upgraded with a new LED structure, where near-infrared light has been given special priority.
The Small toad contains 54 LED units with a total of 162 light chips.
Each LED unit combines:
- 1 × 660 nm chip with red light.
- 2 × 850 nm chips with near-infrared light.
This gives a total distribution of 54 light chips with 660 nm red light and 108 light chips with 850 nm near-infrared light.
Three light chips in each LED unit, divided into two different wavelengths.
With two 850 nm chips for every 660 nm chip, special emphasis has been placed on the near-infrared light in the design itself.
For those of you investing in Red Light Therapy (RLT) for your dog, it is worth knowing the difference between the number of wavelengths and the way the light chips are actually composed.
Two products may use the same wavelengths, but have different LED designs, light distribution and power management.
The upgraded G2 design is therefore an important technical feature. However, the number of light chips does not in itself prove double the brightness or greater treatment effect.
The classic WAVE G2 combination – now with upgraded LED construction
WAVE G2 continues to be based on two carefully selected wavelengths:
- 660 nm red light – visible red light.
- 850 nm near-infrared light – light outside the visible spectrum.
The two wavelengths have different optical properties and are combined in the WAVE G2's light configuration.
It is still the classic WAVE G2 combination, but the upgraded distribution of light chips gives the design a clearer priority of 850 nm.
When assessing the quality of a light pad, it's not just about what wavelengths are listed on the specification list.
It is also relevant to investigate how the LED units are composed, how the light is distributed, and how power management and thermal control are integrated into the design.
This gives you a better basis for understanding the technology behind your investment.
Small – compact size for both small and large dogs
With dimensions of 23 × 35.5 cm, the WAVE RLT G2 Small is particularly suitable for smaller dogs, where the pad provides a practical coverage area without being unnecessarily large.
A FT Cocker Spaniel or a smaller breed of dog is a natural guide, but the size of the dog is not the only thing that determines the choice.
Small can also be a good choice for larger dogs when you want to use the light in a more confined area.
This makes the pad practical for, for example, the back, shoulders and larger muscle areas, where the format naturally fits the dog's anatomy.
Conversely, a smaller dog can cover a larger part of its body with the same pad.
The most important thing is therefore not only the size of the dog, but also how large an area you want to cover and how the toad is best suited to the application.
The compact size of the Small format also makes it easy to take with you and use as part of your dog's regular routine.
Light therapy in the dog basket – a simple and natural application
A practical option with WAVE is to place the light pad directly in the dog's basket.
When the toad is lying completely flat and stretched out with the light surface facing up, the dog can lie down on top of it while you sit next to it and keep an eye on it.
This allows you to integrate light therapy into a quiet moment when the dog is already used to relaxing.
With the Small format, the same pad can provide different coverage options:
- For a smaller dog: The pad can cover a larger part of the body, depending on the dog's size and placement.
- For a larger dog: Small allows you to use the light in a more limited area.
This means that Small is not just a pad for small dogs.
The choice between Small, Medium and Large is largely about the coverage area you want.
Important when the dog is lying directly on the pad
The toad should always lie completely flat and extended on a stable surface.
It must not be folded, placed in a sharp bend or loaded in a way that places undue pressure on the structure.
The dog must be dry and under constant supervision.
Some dogs have a habit of digging or scratching in their basket before they lie down. The dog's claws can damage both the light pad and the transparent protective surface over the LEDs.
Therefore, the dog must not dig, scratch, chew or bite the equipment. Discontinue use if the dog starts to do so.
WAVE should never be left switched on with a dog unattended.
Power density – more than just a number on paper
When investing in light therapy, power density is one of the technical details worth investigating.
Power density is measured in mW/cm² and describes how much light power is delivered per unit area under the specified measurement conditions.
WAVE RLT G2 Small has a declared power density of 77.8 mW/cm² in the product's technical specifications.
But a good lighting product is not just about having a high number on paper.
Two products can have different total wattages, without this alone telling how the light is distributed over the surface used.
Therefore, power density should be assessed together with, among other things, measurement distance, wavelengths, light distribution and power management.
WAVE G2 is developed with a focus on:
- Even light distribution.
- Stable power management.
- Uniform light delivery during use.
This gives you a more concrete basis for evaluating the technology rather than simply comparing the products' wattages.
Constant current – stable light delivery throughout use
An important part of the WAVE G2's technical design is the power management.
The pad is developed with an individual PCBA design with constant current.
This means that the electronics are designed to support consistent light delivery, even when the battery level drops.
This is relevant because light output depends not only on the LED devices, but also on the way power is supplied to them.
Constant current design is thus part of the overall WAVE construction and contributes to stable and predictable use in everyday life.
Controlled heat – because light therapy is all about light
When light therapy is used on a dog, temperature and comfort are important factors.
The dog should be able to lie calmly and comfortably while you are with it.
WAVE G2 is developed with a focus on controlled heat generation, so that heat does not become an unnecessary element in the application.
This is especially relevant when the light pad is placed close to the dog's body, or when the dog lies directly on top of the light surface.
Light therapy is about light – not about unnecessary heat.
A light pad is not a heating rug . Its purpose is to deliver red and near-infrared light – not to heat the dog.
In the product gallery you can see our thermal camera video, which illustrates heat development and gives you a better basis for understanding the importance of heat control.
From hunting and agility to quiet time at home
For the active dog owner, WAVE doesn't have to be another complicated piece of equipment.
It should be easy to integrate into the everyday life you already have with your dog.
For the hunting dog
A FT Cocker Spaniel or other active hunting dog can spend many hours searching, retrieving and working with concentration.
After the hunt, WAVE can be part of the calm routine when the dog is dry and has found peace.
The Small format is particularly practical for smaller hunting dogs or for confined areas on larger dogs.
For the agility dog
Agility is a sport where dog and handler work closely together, and where movement, concentration and training play a large role.
WAVE can be used during quiet breaks around training and competitions or at home when the day's activities are over.
The compact Small-pad is easy to carry and practical when you want a smaller coverage area.
For tracking and working dogs
Tracking work and other working dog training require both concentration and physical activity.
Here, WAVE can be included as a supplement to the dog's regular routines around training, breaks and the time after the day's work.
Small can also be relevant for larger working dogs when you want to use the light in a specific area.
For the family and senior dog
Light therapy does not have to be reserved for competition, sporting or hunting dogs.
Daily walks, playing in the garden and general activity are also part of the dog's life.
WAVE can be included as a quiet moment with a focus on comfort and well-being – even when the dog gets older and perhaps appreciates calm routines more.
Common to all uses is that the dog's well-being comes first.
Flexible placement – with the dog's comfort at the center
The compact format of the Small-Pad makes it practical when you want to use the light in a limited area.
WAVE's flexible strap system allows for customizing the placement where the product and the dog's anatomy allow.
For example, you can place the toad over a suitable area on the dog's body or let the dog rest directly on it in the basket when the toad is lying completely flat and stretched out.
The pad should always be placed comfortably and stably without restricting the dog's movement or pressing inappropriately against the body.
It should not be folded hard or double to fit around smaller or very curved areas.
The most important thing is not to tighten the equipment at all costs, but to create a calm and safe use.
Safe use
- The dog must always be dry before using WAVE.
- The dog must be supervised throughout use.
- The toad must not be left alone with a dog in the car, cage or dog basket.
- The pad should lie completely flat and extended when the dog lies on top of it.
- The dog must not bite, dig, chew or scratch the toad, the wires, straps or other equipment.
- The transparent protective surface must be protected from sharp dog claws.
- Always follow the product's manual and instructions.
For example, after hunting in the rain, the dog must be dried first.
WAVE is light therapy – not a heat or dry rug .
Hygiene and cleaning – well thought out for practical use
When equipment is used close to animals, cleaning and material selection are important.
WAVE G2 has a robust and transparent protective surface over the LEDs.
The surface helps protect the diodes and makes the pad easier to wipe and keep clean after use.
This is a practical advantage when the equipment is used regularly and when the same pad may be used for multiple purposes.
The protective surface must also be treated with care so that it is not damaged by sharp objects or the dog's claws.
Cleaning should always be carried out according to the product's instructions.
When the equipment is used on multiple animals, good hygiene is particularly important to reduce the risk of transferring dirt and infection.
Rechargeable and easy to carry
WAVE G2 Small comes with a rechargeable battery solution, so you are not dependent on a constant connection to an outlet during use.
This makes it convenient to take WAVE with you to training, competitions and other activities where you want to be able to use it in quiet surroundings.
The compact format of the Small-Pad and the included travel case also make the equipment easy to store and transport.
When you're done, the toad and accessories can be packed away until you need to use it again.
An investment that doesn't have to be limited to the dog
Many people purchase light therapy for one specific purpose.
But one of the advantages of WAVE is that the pad itself can also be used in other contexts.
Maybe you buy it for your hunting dog or agility dog, but later want to also use it on yourself after physical activity - or for your horse.
This makes WAVE a flexible investment with multiple uses when the product instructions are followed.
Your dog may be the reason you bought WAVE, but the uses don't have to stop there.
A strong and well-thought-out solution in the WAVE series
WAVE RLT G2 Small is based on the classic combination of 660 nm red light and 850 nm near-infrared light – now with an upgraded LED construction with 162 light chips distributed across 54 LED units.
Together with the constant current design, controlled heat generation and the practical size, it makes the G2 Small a serious choice for the dog owner who wants a flexible solution for everyday life.
Whether you have a smaller dog, where Small can cover a large part of the body, or a larger dog, where you want a more limited coverage area, the goal is the same:
